The safety and wellbeing of our pupils and staff is very important to us at Dolau Primary School.  We aim to support vulnerable children to ensure they are as safe as they can possibly be.  Our school is committed to ensuring the safety and protection of all children and will take action to safeguard their well-being. We acknowledge that children have a right to protection, and this is supported in the general ethos of our school. 

Mae diogelwch a lles ein disgyblion a'n staff yn bwysig iawn i ni yn Ysgol Gynradd Dolau. Ein nod yw cefnogi plant sy'n agored i niwed i sicrhau eu bod mor ddiogel ag y gallant fod. Mae ein hysgol wedi ymrwymo i sicrhau diogelwch ac amddiffyniad pob plentyn a bydd yn gweithredu i ddiogelu eu lles. Rydym yn cydnabod bod gan blant hawl i amddiffyniad, a chefnogir hyn yn ethos cyffredinol ein hysgol.


The school's policy applies to the whole of the school's workforce, along with volunteers, governors and any contractors working on the school site. We ensure all staff working in school have been appropriately DBS checked for their suitability, using the Safe Recruitment procedures.  

Mae polisi'r ysgol yn berthnasol i holl weithlu'r ysgol, ynghyd â gwirfoddolwyr, llywodraethwyr ac unrhyw gontractwyr sy'n gweithio ar safle'r ysgol. Rydym yn sicrhau bod yr holl staff sy'n gweithio yn yr ysgol wedi cael gwiriad DBS yn briodol am eu haddasrwydd, gan ddefnyddio'r gweithdrefnau Recriwtio Diogel.


We work in partnership with outside agencies to safeguard children.
When there are concerns it may be necessary to make a referral to Children’s services.

Rydym yn gweithio mewn partneriaeth ag asiantaethau allanol i ddiogelu plant.
Pan fydd pryderon efallai y bydd angen atgyfeirio at wasanaethau plant.

 

All staff at Dolau Primary School receive regular safeguarding training by the Local Authority. We also have a safeguarding/child protection policy. If anyone has any concerns about children in our school, they should raise it with any member of staff who will then pass the information to the designated safeguarding officer. RCT safeguarding Team can be contacted by anyone for further advice or guidance – 01443 425006

Safeguarding Against Online Abuse / Diogelu rhag camdrin ar-lein

Online abuse is any type of abuse that is facilitated through technology like computers, tablets, mobile phones, game consoles and other electronic devices. Information and support for children and parent/carers is available from a number of sources including: www.thinkuknow.co.uk, stopitnow.org.uk and the NSPCC Online Safety Helpline 0808 8005002.

  • Speak with your child about what they do online / Siaradwch â'ch plentyn am yr hyn maen nhw'n ei wneud ar-lein
  • Ask them to show you some of their favourite sites / Gofynnwch iddyn nhw ddangos rhai o'u hoff gwefannau i chi
  • Show an interest in who their friends are online / Dangoswch ddiddordeb mewn pwy yw eu ffrindiau ar-lein
  • Ask them how they decide who to be friends with / Gofynnwch iddyn nhw sut maen nhw'n penderfynu gyda phwy i fod yn ffrindiau
  • Try and get them to friend you online too / Ceisiwch eu cael i fod yn ffrind i chi ar-lein hefyd
  • Agree the amount of time they spend online and the sites they visit / Cytunwch faint o amser maen nhw'n ei dreulio ar-lein a'r gwefannau maen nhw'n ymweld â nhw
  • Think about installing parental controls on their devices / Meddyliwch am osod rheolyddion rhieni ar eu dyfeisiau
  • Raise the issue of inappropriate content. Have they seen any? / Codwch y mater o gynnwys amhriodol. Ydyn nhw wedi gweld rhywbeth?
  • Make sure they know how to report abuse online / Sicrhewch eu bod yn gwybod sut i adrodd ar gamdrin ar-lein
  • Agree on some ground rules regarding how long children spend online, the websites they visit and the activities they take part in / Cytunwch ar rai rheolau sylfaenol ynghylch faint o amser mae plant yn ei dreulio ar-lein, y gwefannau maen nhw'n ymweld â nhw a'r gweithgareddau maen nhw'n cymryd rhan ynddynt
  • Internet service providers (ISPs), such as Virgin Media, TalkTalk, Sky or BT, provide parental controls for laptops, phones, tablets, game consoles and other devices that connect to the internet.   • Check the privacy settings on your child’s social media accounts to keep personal information private. Talk to them about what to do if they see worrying or upsetting content or if someone contacts them and makes them feel anxious or uncomfortable / Gwiriwch y gosodiadau preifatrwydd ar gyfrifon cyfryngau cymdeithasol eich plentyn i gadw gwybodaeth bersonol yn breifat. United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) / Confensiwn y Cenhedloedd Unedig ar Hawliau'r Plentyn (UNCRC)

Children and young people have 42 rights under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). / Mae gan blant a phobl ifanc 42 o hawliau o dan Gonfensiwn y Cenhedloedd Unedig a Hawliau'r Plentyn (UNCRC).

These 42 rights give children and young people what they need to grow up happily, healthily and safely (Children’s Commissioner for Wales) / Mae'r 42 hawl hyn yn rhoi i blant a phobl ifanc yr hyn sydd ei angen arnynt i dyfu i fyny yn hapus, yn iach ac yn ddiogel.
